AMD Reveals the Details of Its Next-Generation 2017 Zen CPU Core

ZEN

AMD has recently arranged a private press meet where they express their excitement for getting back into action with their newest Zen Architecture. The company was in the news for last few weeks when some benchmark leaks get the news of their next-generation Zen CPU. The company has shown in that press meet that how their new CPU Core is better than the others.

AMD has added some of the most interesting and top-quality features in this new model so that its performance level can be optimized. The company is claiming that almost 40% improvement can be seen in the performance as per the instruction is given per clock for Zen.

Keep Their Promise

Previously, AMD said that their new next-generation 2017 Zen CPU Core will be something with high-technicalities and improvements. This time, they keep their promise. Now, they have announced 16-thread, 8-core Summit Ridge system. They have also demonstrated that this new CPU is ready to outperform Intel Broadwell E-Processor in some certain tasks when the clock speed is same. This new Zen is developed on a 14nm FinFET process. The main features of this product are totally new. It has something that we did not have in the previous versions. It can offer the users new branch prediction with a broader instruction window and a latest micro-op cache.

However, this is not the end. The company is interested in adding 8MB L3 cache as well as an advanced cache memory with high order with Zen.

There Is Something More

During that same press meet, AMD has also declared their new Zen server processor. This is a 32-core and 64-thread processor and gets its code name, Naples. This server processor will run in a dual-CPU configuration Windows Server. However, the company did not disclose any specific process of performance of this server. Looks like they want to keep it a secret till now and wish to reveal it in another event.

Some Unbeatable Features

This new AM4 Socket from AMD will match best with New Summit Ridge desktops. This will be compatible with CPUs which were formerly known as Bristol Ridge 7th generation A-Series CPUs. The new AM4 provide supports for DDR4 memory. It has dedicated lanes for graphics. The new Summit Ridge may not be available in the market until March or April of 2017. That means the users have to wait for a few more months which can be disappointing for them.

What She Says

Dr. Lisa Su is the president and the CEO of the company and according to her the performance, as well as the efficiency of Zen core, will always proof that AMD is the best at its job. They are the one who can offer high-performance and multitasking CPUs as per the expectations of this new generation. Zen is a growing brand because the company is making some significant progress in their recent moves and bring something amazing, functional and highly technical in the market.

AMD has the capacity to change the thought process of global users with their new and fascinating technologies.
