The common notion that one might get is that money is a very important factor to win elections at any scale in the US. But in reality, this is not at all the case. It has been observed by experts and analysts that money is not at all determined to win political battles on the US front. Studies have revealed that through many decades various leaders and campaigners have invested a lot of money to win delegates and also initiating plans to win Presidential elections.
The implementation of strategies has not been as effective as desired. Data from previous years reveal that a huge amount of money is actually not a major factor for the victory that one is aiming for in elections.
One of the best examples in this context is during the 2016 presidential election when Hillary Clinton spent more than the double amount compared to Donald Trump in campaigning. There are various analysts and strategies hired along with brand managers that were meant to have helped Clinton to win the president’s race. But the result was absolutely the opposite. Even after spending half the amount that Clinton spent Trump was able to win the election. It is proof that nearly increasing the campaign amount is not a good strategy to win elections. One needs to move forward and think about more unique techniques in order to become successful in such matters.
One might ponder about the aspects on which money is spent by so many campaigns during the election time. Arguably the major aspect on which everything is focused is advertisement campaigns. From digital advertising to print advertising a huge amount of money is regularly spent to build the image of the candidate. Several people are hired and strategies are undertaken in order to make the campaign successful. There are various unique ways that are implemented to connect with people. This lot of money is spent by various agencies. But the results don’t seem to quite match the initiatives undertaken by various strategists and different campaigners.
Money is of course important in campaigns and making one more acceptable to the public but spending exorbitant of money in election campaigns is not considered to be a good measure. One needs to talk about other strategies in order to connect with people and put forward his or her views in a creative manner. The recent pandemic has decreased the cost of the campaign by considerable amounts. It has also led to the design of newer methods to campaign about one’s views and building image.
It is expected that in the coming day’s money will be spent more judiciously during election campaigns. Analysts have marked stacking up huge loads of money is not the answer to winning an election. There should be proper channels through which money should be spent and then strategies should be implemented in a wise away.
The strategies of spending money during elections are also being deeply thought and redesigned by the experts. The next election will be not everything about spending money that’s for sure.
