Apparatus and accessories needed
Take a heat source like a stove for melting the wax. Put the wax in a coffee pot to melt or in a double boiler if available. Keep a container ready to hold the melted wax. You also need a thermometer to check on the heat and a spatula to break up large chunks of wax.
Prepare Work Area and Melting Wax
Dealing with wax is a messy affair thus keeping paper towels and newspaper around comes handy. Put adequate water below the double boiler to melt the wax slowly. Maintain a temperature of 160 to 170 degrees Fahrenheit and occasionally stir the mixture. Use a thermometer to keep checks on the temperature.
Cooling and pouring wax
Cool the wax before pouring it into the container. The optimal temperature to pour the liquid into the desired container is 130 to 140 degrees. Therefore once it is completely cooled keep a light hold onto the wick so that it stays at the center. Then give enough time to harden the wax mixture. And once the wax hardens and forms a sinkhole cool it for a few hours and let it set completely.
