Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery problem

The Galaxy series seems to be one of the greatest offerings from Samsung. Especially, Note 7 happens to be a highly popular and widely used product manufactured by the company. With some of the most amazing features, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 can be considered as the flagship product offered by the company.

However, some critical problems in the device are causing major issues. It has hardly been a month that Note 7 entered into the market, and the company has already found highly critical issues with its battery.

According to Samsung, the ‘Galaxy Note 7’ model had major issues with the battery which made the company halt sales in almost 10 countries including the US and South Korea. Since 2.5 million Note 7 devices have been bought by customers already, the company plans to replace it with new phones. Here’s what you need to know about this news.

What went wrong?

Note 7 users claim that the device is catching fire and getting burnt while being charged. Some of the images found on social media show burnt and charred devices. However, the situation is a little different in the case of the devices found in China. No reports of burning are reported, as China has different battery supplier.

Samsung is apologetic for this massive inconvenience, and the company is trying its best to compensate the losses. The company happens to offer $25 bill credit or gift cards to make up for this inconvenience.

The details of the issue

According to one of the Galaxy 7 users in South Korea, the phone is getting charged as soon as it is connected for charging. After profound market researchers, the company has discovered five cases of faulty phones.

That’s not all; the company has to deal with nearly 35 cases of faulty devices throughout the world. A majority of sellers including the online traders have stopped selling the device. Koh Dong-jin, the president of the companies’ mobile communication business, finds this incident to be quite disturbing and heartbreaking.

Since the company refused to make any statements about the amounts involved in replacements, there is no clear picture of how much it’s spending on compensation.

The downfall

The event has been a major setback for the company. Samsung acquired the biggest share in the Smartphone market which is around 22%. Some of the latest offerings including the Galaxy Note 7 have helped the company rule the Smartphone arena. With this situation, the company will surely experience a major setback.
