Applying products like milk and yogurt using a clean cloth can be healing. Appling mashed and grated chilled cucumbers to the affected area can bring relief as they have analgesic properties. Using freshly brewed cooled mint black tea is also helpful. It contains tannic acid which helps to restore the PH balance of the skin. Cold tea bags with water, mashed potatoes, and cornstarch slurry also help soothe sunburns.
Coconut is the wonder fruit when it comes to curing sunburn. The oil and non-concentrate coconut water have miracle properties that heal the charred skin. The coconut water helps replenish your body, of the lost electrolytes during sweats and nourishes the skin that is dehydrated or baked in the sun. Also, another wonderful product is Vitamin E that when mixed with coconut oil gives moisture.
It is advisable not to use make-up or acne-medications for several days after getting sunburned. Use a higher SPF sunscreen and discontinue products with oil and alcohol base. Also, do not step out in the sun if the skin has not healed properly or there is a presence of the previous sunburn’s swellings and itching. Protect yourself and enjoy the summers.
