Regardless of popular belief, the world is indeed massive. However, globalization is bringing communities and civilizations closer to each other with every passing year. The flow of goods and services internationally is increasing, along with immigration. Naturally, these immigrants have to learn the primary language spoken in that country. The employers also seek bilingual and multilingual workers. If you acquired training in any foreign language, then the following jobs are for you. It is mandatory for a candidate to have good command over a different lingua to do any of these jobs. Fluency in a foreign dialect creates a better chance for specific candidates to earn these careers.
Flight attendant
The primary responsibility of a flight attendant is to ensure the safety of the crew and passengers. They respond when emergencies occur in-flight. Flight attendants also take care of the comfort of the passengers by offering them food, beverages, snacks, etc. A bilingual or multilingual candidate is more favorable for the post than any other applicant.
Translators or interpreters
As you can understand, the task of a language translator is to convert spoken words from one dialect to another. So, the individuals who are pursuing this job should be fluent in both the targeted and source language. Apart from that, job seekers should also know both cultures and the subject in discussion. Most people don’t need a bachelor’s degree to become an interpreter. However, employers will prefer the applicant who has one.
Head Cooks
Chefs or head chefs are the ones who prepare meals at restaurants or other dining establishments. They are also the ones who run and manage an entire kitchen. While fluency isn’t imperative, chefs should possess a working knowledge of the language that the staff members speak. Being a chef doesn’t require formal training either. However, many choose to join culinary art schools, community colleges, technical schools, and the like.
Doctors
Physicians and doctors are the ones who bestow new life upon ailing people. They treat patients and relieve them of their illnesses. Apart from other healthcare professionals, doctors can also reap the benefits of learning a different language. Doctors need to earn their license and training from certified medical colleges. After graduating from the college, medical students need to complete a three to eight-year residency.
Physician assistant
Commonly regarded as PA, the physician assistant is a primary healthcare professional. Of course, their knowledge isn’t as profound as doctors. However, they can seek jobs in a different country, and learning a second language can prove beneficial to them. An aspirant must acquire a master’s degree from an accredited PA training course.
These professionals take care of people who suffer from mental and emotional disorders. They also treat patients who are dealing with addiction. Some patients speak languages which aren’t familiar to a mental health counselor. So, such an individual will find it worthwhile to gain training in a foreign language. Mental health counselors need to earn a master’s degree from a mental-health related field of education.
