Are you concerned about the dark circles around your eyes? In comparison to other parts of the body, the skin around the eyes is relatively thin and at the same time delicate too. Whenever any change occurs deep inside the body, then that is reflected on the surface of the skin. Irrespective of your age or gender dark circles may happen to anyone. Allergies, atopic dermatitis, sun exposure, and natural aging pressure may be responsible for such a situation.
Freshen up your eyes
It is a common belief that dark circles under the eyes will make you feel tired and unhealthy. With some home remedies, you may give a fresh look to your eyes.
1. Cucumber slices
The presence of antioxidants in the vegetable helps in the reduction of puffiness around the eyes. The unique blending of coolness, caffeic acid along with vitamin C plays a pivotal role to reduce puffy eyes. Ideally, you should cut the cucumber into thick slices and then use two refrigerated slices on the affected area. Repeat for twice a day and see the miraculous result in a week.
2. Tea bags
Refrigerate the tea bags after dipping them in water. Keep those tea bags on for fifteen minutes and then rinse with water. The dilating of the blood vessels under the eyes is responsible for those dark circles. It is the astringency from the tannins which assists in the shrinking of soft tissues, and this helps to get rid of eye bags. Obtain useful results by repeating this treatment once to thrice a day for a week.
3. Mint leaves
Make a smooth paste with crushed mint leaves and a few drops of water. Leave the paste application on for several minutes and then rinse off with cold water. The ideal time to apply this paste is before retiring to bed. Rejuvenation of skin is possible due to the presence of menthol in these leaves. You will end up with a brighter skin soon.
4. Cold milk
Dip cotton balls in a bowl of cold milk. Place these cotton balls on each eye and make sure that they cover the affected region entirely. Keep them on for fifteen minutes and then rinse your face with regular water. Vitamins A and B6 are involved in the creation of new cells. The vitamin B12 helps to lighten up the dark skin naturally.
5. Aloe vera gel
Gently massage the aloe vera gel under your eyes. Keep this gel on for ten to twelve minutes and then use a moist cotton pad to clean the area of application. You may apply it twice a day. The nourishing properties present in aloe vera not only help in the removal of pigmentation from the affected area but also hydrates the area.
6. Raw potato
Extract the juice from a raw potato after grating it. Dip cotton balls in the juice and then place them on the dark circles. Use cold water for washing off your eyes after ten minutes. The combination of starch, vitamin C and enzymes aids in the nourishment of the skin and also in the elimination of puffiness around the eyes.
