Heart Shaped Cakes

The heart shaped cakes are not meant only for Valentine’s day. Now,. You can celebrate any day of utter jubilation or happy with the little cakes of chocolate in the heart of cakes.  Now there are many procedures to make such a cake. You can do so with or without standard baking pans. Bring them out of your oven, frost and decorate to enjoy the little cakes of happiness.

The ingredients are:

  • 1 tablespoon of flour for preparing pan
  • 1 tablespoon of butter for preparing pan
  • ¾ cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ cup sugar
  • 1 ½ cup flour for all purposes
  • 1 ½ tablespoons of baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • ¾ cup buttermilk of low fat
  • ¾ warm water
  • 3 tablespoons of safflower oil
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • A little bit of food coloring
  • Frosting

The basic recipe

  1. Preheat the oven

You got to turn on the oven to 177 degree Celsius. This is obviously the first step towards making those delicious cakes.

  1. Prepare the molds using the baking pan

 Rub the butter all over your baking pan which is in the shape of a heart. You got to do this all over the sides and bottom of the baking pan. Then add a tablespoon of flour and tilt the pan a little. This will make the flour, cover the entire surface.

  1. Mix the other dry ingredients together

In some other vessel, mix the dry ingredients together. That includes cocoa powder, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix these with care, precision and attention.

  1. Now add the wet ingredients

The wet ingredients include eggs, oil, buttermilk, water and vanilla. Beat these on a medium speed for almost 3 minutes. You got to do it until it is absolutely smooth.

What are the things that you need to notice after beating the mixture?

There should not be any lumps of flour in the mix. If you find any single lump, it signifies that your cake is not going in the right direction.

  1. Add the batter into the molds

Now, this is the most careful step. It includes the adding of the batter into the molds in the shape of hearts. You must try to distribute the batter evenly on the mold and in between the pans.

  1. Baking Time!

Insert the preparation in the oven. Bake it for almost 35 minutes. You can insert a toothpick in order to see if it’s done or not. The toothpick should come out clean. If it isn’t, bake for some time more.

  1. Cool the cake after being baked

Once you have baked, take it out of the oven. Now you have to let it cool down. Once it is cooled decorate your cakes as you would like to eat them. Now, add frosting to the top and bottom of your cake.

What shall you do in the absence of a special baking pan?

Not everybody has the special pan required to bake the special hearty shape cakes. But that does not mean you are restricted from enjoying the feeling a heart shaped cake. You just need to follow the instructions given below. Then you can easily make the cake in the shape of a heart.

Firstly, you need to make two cakes on two separate pans. One has to be in the shape of a rectangle. The other has to be in the shape of a circle. Prepare the batter and pour it into the pans with care.

Bake both the cakes as you are supposed to do. Then slice out both of them from the pan once they have cooled down.

Now, cut the round cake into two equal halves. Be very careful while you do this. One mistake can ruin the entire structure of your cake.

Join these two halves to the adjacent sides of the rectangular cake. Then you may add frosting to the crevices in order to keep the entire cake intact. You can add pretty pink frosting on the cake and spread it evenly on the entire cake.
